Decision review options
The three lanes VA offers after a decision.
If you disagree with a VA decision, VA describes three decision review options. Each has its own rules and timelines.
Supplemental Claim
You add new and relevant evidence for VA to review.
Higher Level Review
A more senior reviewer looks at the same evidence again. VA states you cannot add new evidence in this lane.
Board Appeal
A Veterans Law Judge at the Board of Veterans Appeals reviews your case. VA lists several docket options.
Getting help
Which lane fits depends on your situation. A VA accredited representative can help you decide and file.

Plain and simple. Veticare provides free general education about the VA disability claims process. Veticare is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or part of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Veticare is not a VA accredited representative and does not prepare, present, file, or prosecute VA claims, and does not charge for help with VA claims. Free help from VA accredited representatives, including Veterans Service Organizations, is available at va.gov/ogc/apps/accreditation.
