Finding accredited help
Free official help, and how to verify it.
VA accredits three kinds of people to help with claims: representatives of VA recognized Veterans Service Organizations, attorneys, and claims agents.
Free help is available
VSO representatives help veterans at no cost. You can search VA's official list to confirm anyone is accredited before you share information.
A safety tip
Be careful with anyone who is not accredited and asks to be paid to help with your claim, or asks for your VA login.
Source: official VA information. Rules change; always confirm on VA.gov. This guide is general education, not advice about your claim.
Plain and simple. Veticare provides free general education about the VA disability claims process. Veticare is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or part of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Veticare is not a VA accredited representative and does not prepare, present, file, or prosecute VA claims, and does not charge for help with VA claims. Free help from VA accredited representatives, including Veterans Service Organizations, is available at va.gov/ogc/apps/accreditation.
